Aham-Prema Mantra

Welcome to Tuesday everyone! This kitty hopes you are all having a great day.

We wanted to share with the world the meditation mantra ‘Aham-Prema’. It is pronounced as ‘Aah-ham-preemah’ and it has the most wonderful translation.

This beautiful mantra translates to ‘I am Divine Love’.

Kat and I have met many wonderful people (and animals) on our past travels and we do continue to do so. Those who have helped us without question and have given us a home away from home. We are continually and extremely grateful for the kindness we have been shown and are shown on a daily basis.

We would like to spread this gratitude to the world 🙂 Thank you very much 🙂

The world is ‘Divine Love’. Please do not give in to fear and negative energy. Smile more, cultivate lots of friends and a choose happy life.

‘Aham-Prema’

To practice this mantra meditation sit in a quiet space and surround yourself with nature (a quiet room in winter time works just as well). Take deep breaths in and out until you feel yourself calm. Take as much time as you need to. Once you are calm say ‘Aham’ on the inhale and ‘Prema’ on the exhale. It does not matter if you do not manage it straight away. Do what feels right for you.

You can even just sit in your quiet space and repeat the mantra to yourself in three sets of three. This equates to nine which is the number of our amazing and mysterious universe. The choice is yours.

Thank you for stopping by to our page. We do appreciate it.

Easy Meditation :)

Hello everyone!

We hope you are all keeping well. Kat and I decided to leave the internet for a couple of weeks to refresh and relax. We really do appreciate your love and support.

We both choose the path of love and not fear. Through simple mantras and meditation you can start your beautiful journey of love and fulfilment. Fear will eventually leave your realm and you can cultivate further appreciation and gratitude.

(We both know how difficult this is-living in a world which cultivates fear through every pour…what if I do not have enough money? What if I lose my job? What if…What if…What if….?)

What if everything works out? 🙂

So everyone: to start your journey. Sit in a comfortable position and take 10 deep breaths in and 10 breaths out. For the next ten breaths try saying ‘Hamsa’. ‘Ham’ on the breath in and ‘Sa’ on the breath out.

‘Hamsa’ simply translates to ‘I am that’. Which you are in abundance!

Blessings to you all.

Tabathas easy meditation guide

Hello everyone! We really hope you have had a great week 🙂

As Kat and I are unable to travel very far, we have been helping the world to stay calm and are highlighting the benefits of meditation as it is proven to be a positive tool for mental health. If you have a positive mind, you lead a more positive life, which leads to overall better health.

On this beautiful Wednesday evening (Australia time) your travel cat would like to share with you a lovely breathing meditation which is sure to relax your mind. Breathing is so important as it is the essence of life and gives you the oxygen you need.

First of all find a comfortable space. If you have candles, light them (make sure they are in a holder for safety) and if you like to have incense, go ahead and light it too (make sure you have a door/window slightly open unless you are outside in nature and it is in a holder too). Sit on your blanket/mat with your spine straight and with your hands rested on your lap with your palms turned up.

Secondly, start to take deep inhales of breath. No worries about counting your breath for now, just feel the sensation of the breath as you breath deeply in and deeply out. Notice the stillness and quiet all around you (here the birds are tweeting their evening song…)

Thirdly, slowly close down your eyes and continue to breath in and out deeply. Your body will start to relax as your mind starts to relax. Now on your next inhale, start to count your breath and continue to do this every time you inhale. If you find your mind start to wander, bring it back by concentrating on the counting. Try to repeat for thirty inhales.

Next, switch your counting to exhales. Once you have reached thirty on the inhale count, start by counting from one on your next exhale. Once again, repeat thirty times and if you find your mind wandering, bring your concentration back to your breath.

Once you have reached thirty exhales. stop counting and relax by once more experiencing the feel of your breath as it glides through your nose and out through your mouth. If your mind starts to wander focus on a positive thought, such as your pet cat 🙂

Stay in this moment for as long as you need to. This is your time to be with yourself. You will know when to come around. Once you have opened your eyes, don’t move straight away. Sit for ten minutes and embrace your relaxation and the stillness around you.

We really hope you find this meditation useful. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day/afternoon/evening no matter where you are on Earth/Universe.

Meditation-More Amazing Facts. (Welcome to a new week!)

Welcome to a new week everyone. I hope you have had a lovely weekend including a great Caturday.

As it is the birth of a new week, your travel cat would like to share some further benefits with regards to meditation. Meditation has been proven to release stress and to calm the mind, which is difficult in the current world we live in. Even if you do not follow a spiritual path, meditation has been scientifically proven to have many positive effects on overall health and well being. Without delaying any further-lets take a look at some more facts about the benefits of meditation.

  1. Meditation allows you to focus on the present. Many people fear their future or still hold a fear over their past when there is no need to. Unfortunately, this is repeated to us since birth, so we live in a cognitive state of worry. All that matters (really) is the present moment and your actions now. Both the past and the future are in your mind (which is a very powerful tool). So take a moment to pause, breathe in deeply and be in the present moment.
  2. Meditation can increase tolerance and patience. This is due to the calming practice of meditation. It helps to calm the mind and focus. People are triggered for many different reasons, however meditation can aid with your reactions and see issues from a much clearer perspective.
  3. Meditation is good for your brain. An eight week study which took place at Harvard University in 2016 showed mindfulness meditation changed the brain structure of the recipients in a positive way. They found themselves with improved memory and feeling less anxiety and stress. Which is fantastic news.
  4. Increased creativity is linked to meditation practice. People who practice meditation on a daily basis have a tendency to be more creative and have fresh, new ideas. It is important to remember everything you see first started as a creative thought, so creativity is highly important for the world 🙂
  5. Meditation can help to improve your sleep. If you are like my owner Kat and suffer from insomnia, meditation can greatly help you. The deep breathing can help your body and mind to relax. Try turning off all electronic items, lighting a candle and go from there. Start with five minutes and increase your time as you practice. Soon you shall find yourself in a lovely state of slumber.

I really hope these facts have helped you if you do practise meditation or are wanting to introduce it to your daily routine. It can be tough at first, finding time for yourself and then learning to calm the modern day known ‘monkey mind’. This is just your ego wanting to stay in charge. However, this kitty promises you with daily meditation, you will feel a whole lot better. Don’t give in to frustration as its part of the process.

Have a great time meditating!

The Amazing Benefits of Meditation

Good afternoon to you all from the Southern Hemisphere. This kitty really hopes you are all staying positive and enjoying the beauty of nature plus activities you enjoy.

Today I wish to tell the world about the positive benefits of meditation. This is a practice which has been around for thousands of years and has been proven to have both emotional and physical benefits.

Ancient civilisations of Earth practised meditation on a daily basis and it was included in many spiritual rituals to connect with the universe. It is about going within, understanding the importance of breath and finding your calm centre. (Anyone hear of the great Native Indian saying-‘the right wing and left wing both belong to the same bird?’) We are all one and this can be achieved through greater acceptance, appreciation, gratitude and understanding. Even for cats 🙂

Even if you do not follow a spiritual path, meditation has been scientifically proven to benefit health. Here are some of its benefits below:

  1. It can help to control anxiety. It can be difficult in today’s world to have a calm mind with the modern fast paced world racing at 1000 mph. However if you sit with yourself, even for five minutes a day, in a quiet space and focus on your breath, this can help with anxiety.
  2. It can generate kindness. Meditation can help to create positive feelings due to the relaxing calm notion related to deep breathing. This in turn, creates kind thoughts and an individual is more likely to express positivity, which can then be passed on to others. In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind.
  3. It can enhance self-awareness. Meditation can help you to recognise negative feelings and thoughts. Once these have been recognised, you have the power to turn these thoughts into positive ones. This in turn, can help you to become more self aware and help you to understand yourself more.
  4. It can help reduce stress. More and more individuals are going to the doctor for stress medication. Stress is caused by the hormone cortisol which in turn releases inflammatory chemicals named cytokines. Mindfulness meditation can help to reduce cortisol levels which will leave you feeling calm and relaxed. There are many meditations to be found on YouTube which are easy to follow or you can start meditating alone or with friends if you prefer. The key is to focus on your surroundings before slowly closing your eyes and focusing on your breath. Trust this kitty, if you practice every day-it can work wonders!
  5. It can lengthen your attention span. That’s right! Meditation practice can help your attention span in the long run as it helps the mind to focus. So now this kitty will get on with meditation research!

Thank you for reading these meditation benefits. It is greatly appreciated. I really hope you find them helpful. Have a wonderful day!

tabathas Guide to breathing :)

Good afternoon from the Southern Hemisphere! This kitty really hopes you are doing well.

As Kat and I have been unable to travel around for quite some time now, we would like to take the opportunity to share some activities we enjoy to keep our spirits high and positive. We have our low days (like everyone) however when we do, we like to focus on our breathing technique.

Breathing technique is highly underestimated. Short, shallow breaths will not pump oxygen around our bodies effectively. We understand in today’s fast paced world, it is tough to focus on our breathing, however our simple activity will help 🙂

Deep breathing helps to relieve anxiety, clears the mind and reduces stress. So start by deeply and slowly inhaling your first breath. It can feel strange at first, however continue to do this for a second breath, taking in as much oxygen as you can. Continue until you have reached ten exhales and inhales. You should feel more calm and relaxed. Continue for a further ten exhales and inhales.

It is a simple, yet effective technique which can be performed at any time in any place (well, apart from deep water).

Have a great day everyone!
